Games Workshop - Warhammer 40,000 - Space Marines: Infernus Marines + Paints Set

I used to paint Warhammer figures 20 or so years ago , and have recently been convinced to give it another go. I found this is a great set of 3 space marines, all in the newer push to fit construction , much cleaner than the old method I was used to of using plastic glues or superglues :). Alongside the 3 models you get a starter paintbrush and 6 pots of paint. One of which is different to the others , in that it’s designed for basing your figures to make the stands look more intereting. If you don’t think you’d know how to start , I found plenty of tutorials on YouTube based just around this set, showing you just what you can do with this set. It also spawned a few 5 paint challenges, where painters recreate some amazing paint schemes JUST. using a selection of 5 paints. I found this a great Segway back into the hobby.

Nothing to dislike about this starter set except the Pauldrons have the ultramarine symbol already cast into them but they’re easy enough to smooth off if your careful with a hobby knife, under supervision of course if your young or married ! Then sand them down & smooth them off, unless you collect ultramarines or you want to clip the Pauldrons off to replace with your own factions like Deathwatch for example. The brush is citadel & a decent starter brush, I’m still using it for basing & the paints are decent citadel too, even got the base Armageddon Dust which is always a good go to for your bases. The 3 Infernus Space Marines are push fit so no glue needed but I always glue just in case but it’s personal preference. Overall it’s a great little starter kit for kids of all ages & the perfect way to get into War Hammer 40K, highly recommend.

Good starter set if getting into 40K. Bus is ok but not great. Also lacks a primer. I would probably recommend a decent paint brush and primer if you are thinking of going further into the hobby, but if not this kit will be fine.

Games workshop certainly know how to make easy beginner kits. The figurines were very easy to snap together and were easy to paint, without any areas being difficult to reach.

Good starter set ...my son wanted to get into warhammer like his brother so this seemed a good set to get to see if he would stick at it or not. Figures, paints and brushes ..great to start off...I am now one of them dad's you see standing outside the warhammer shop on a Saturday while his son discusses the merits of 12 sided dice with the shop owner that can talk the legs off a donkey...such is life
