Lots of interesting projects, with adequate explanations, drawings and guidance to suit a range of reader's skills and experience. For those starting out in machining, model engineering etc, this is an excellent resource of tried and tested techniques. Having spent my whole career in Engineering manufacturing, I enjoyed reading this little book and several others in the series. I don't have machine tools currently or a workshop ! It costs about the same as a magazine !

So far this book has proved to be a treasure trove of ideas for organising my workshop. Looking ahead I can see other projects which look interesting and useful. However, do not be surprised that there is a degree of repetition from some of Mr Hall's other books on lathe and mill work which initially was a little disappointing. However, on further investigation I realised that the projects are there without the chatty hand holding and for an experienced engineer (not me) this might be advantageous. For a beginner, it's worth buying. If you already have his books on basic lathe and mill operations, you might want to think before you buy - but still buy it!

Looked on Harold Halls website & the projects looked interesting, so I bought the book. Not made any of them yet, but some will be done when I have time! I shall have to convert the metric measurements to imperial, as I have imperial machines. Just call 1mm as .040", most of the metric screw threads can use BA equivalents if you don't have the metric taps & dies to hand.

Not bad, but a bit of a collection of lots of other ideas seen elsewhere. Useful as a convenient source rather than a file full of papers.

Gary.
Good book, some of the items are more for a pro machinist or a larger lathe operator.

This book covers small items which will be very useful in anyones home work shop, fully detailed drawings on there use and how to make them. I think anyone will find one or two projects in this book useful.

This book contains several very useful items for the modeller to make, and gain knowledge and experience. Could benefit from an update, otherwise no other adverse comments.
